Emaar The Economic City (Emaar EC) said the Public Investment Fund (PIF) approvedthe availability period during which the company can draw on its shareholder loan facility.
In a statement to Tadawul today, Oct. 6, the company said the cutoff date has been deferred from Sept. 18, 2026, marking 18 months from the execution of the amendment and restatement agreement, to Feb. 28, 2027.
The company noted that PIF is a related party, as it is one of the company’s major shareholders.
According to Argaam data, the latest extension relates to the binding facility agreement signed in March 2025, which amended the terms for the SAR 1 billion shareholder loan initially outlined in a non-binding term sheet in September 2024.
Under the terms of the agreement, PIF retains an option to convert outstanding debt into company equity, with bullet repayment of principal and accrued commission scheduled 24 months from the March 2025 signing date.
