The Dow Chemical is considering plans to exit its partnership with Saudi Aramco in Sadara Chemical Co. as part of efforts to restructure its portfolio, Bloomberg reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The sources said Saudi Aramco could seize the opportunity to acquire Dow Chemical’s stake in Sadara and increase its ownership, while other companies or financial investors may also consider making bids.
The sources noted that the discussions are still at an early stage, and Dow may ultimately decide not to proceed with a sale.
According to data available on Argaam, Saudi Aramco owns 65% of Sadara’s capital, while Dow Chemical owns the remaining 35%.
