Cryptocurrencies fell on Friday amid expectations that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates elevated to curb inflation.

Bitcoin declined to trade below $84,000, but remained on track for a weekly gain of more than 3%.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget said it detected unauthorized transfers of about $351.6 million from some of its wallets following a security breach, prompting it to temporarily suspend withdrawals. The platform said user funds remain safe.

Bitget CEO Gracy Chen said the losses are fully covered by the platform’s user protection fund, which is currently worth more than $464 million, Bloomberg reported.
