National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (Bahri) said its tanker SIDR was involved in a security incident while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Aug.
In a statement, the company said two of its Filipino crew members died in the incident.
It added that it remains in continuous contact with the vessel and is coordinating closely with the relevant authorities and maritime-sector stakeholders while closely monitoring developments.
The company affirmed that the safety and well-being of its employees remain its top priority and that it is committed to operating in accordance with the highest standards of safety, security, and environmental protection.
According to data available with Argaam, the SIDR incident follows two security incidents involving Bahri tankers in July and August 2026.
The WEDYAN tanker was involved in an incident while transiting the Strait of Hormuz in July, while the AMZAN tanker was involved in a security incident in the Red Sea on Aug. 24.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
