National Energy Services Reunited Corp. (NESR) said that its environmental and decarbonization unit signed an agreement with Saudi Aramco to develop a pilot lithium production project in Saudi Arabia under a contract worth approximately $200 million.
In a statement, NESR said the five-year contract targets annual production of 2,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, with operations and production expected to begin in late 2027.
The project will combine Aramco’s subsurface expertise with NESR’s Lithara technology platform, which includes brine pretreatment, direct lithium extraction (DLE) and carbonation technologies.
