Twareat expects the ruling to have a positive impact on its results in Q4 2026
Twareat Medical Care Co. (TMC) said the Court of Appeal upheld a previous ruling issued in its lawsuit against Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC).
In a statement to Tadawul, the company said the ruling is expected to have a positive financial impact on its results in Q4 2026.
The company added that it will announce any further material developments related to the case in due course.
According to Argaam data, the Commercial Court issued a preliminary ruling on Aug. 25, 2026, ordering SABIC to pay Twareat SAR 1.03 million, in addition to SAR 6,500 representing the company’s share of expert fees.
The court also ruled that it would not hear Twareat’s claim relating to the contractual year from Dec. 1, 2019, to Nov. 30, 2020, due to the expiry of the statutory limitation period. Furthermore, the court ruled that it lacked jurisdiction over the company’s request for SABIC to pay the value-added tax arising from the principal claim, and rejected the remaining claims.
