RIYADH — Public Investment Fund (PIF) Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan affirmed the PIF’s commitment to good governance through its Governance Center and its role in strengthening institutional capabilities. He made the remarks during the PIF Board Members Forum, which Al-Rumayyan inaugurated in the presence of leaders from the PIF and its portfolio companies. The forum aims to enhance cooperation and discuss best governance practices. “The strong governance that the PIF enjoys supports its ambition to attract capital and enhance the sustainability and investment appeal of its companies. There are three advantages that can contribute to empowering the Fund’s companies if used more systematically: the strength of the PIF’s partnerships, the insights provided by its data, and the governance capacity it has built.” Al-Rumayyan said: “Our commitment to good governance is demonstrated through the Governance Center and its role in supporting institutional capabilities. The PIF established this center to translate our governance ambitions into tangible impact within boards of directors.” Since its establishment in 2020, the Governance Center has evolved into a leading platform for the Kingdom and the region in governance knowledge, capacity building, and thought leadership. In a panel discussion held on the sidelines of the forum, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb discussed the key lessons learned from the Kingdom’s tourism transformation experience, the sector’s growth trajectory, and its evolving impact.
