Muhammad Alagil, Chairman of Jarir Marketing Co.
Jarir Marketing Co. chairman Muhammad Alagil said the company recorded higher visitor numbers and a 6% increase in average basket value, despite a decline in the conversion rate from 29% to 27%.
In an interview with Argaam, Alagil said most technology segments grew in Q3 2026, including TVs, which gained market share, and after-sales services. Smartphone sales also posted strong growth, with demand improving year-on-year (YoY).
PC sales declined in Q3 as prices rose by up to 30%. Meanwhile, school supplies, art supplies and books continued to grow. Installment sales and buy now, pay later (BNPL) services also expanded, while sales across GCC countries rose by around 8%.
Physical showrooms accounted for 62% of total sales in Q3, while the online store and digital channels contributed 38%.
Alagil said Jarir continues to enhance its online application, which attracts around 6 million visitors per month.
The chairman said installment sales account for 41% of total sales, with the new financing company, in which Jarir holds a 49% stake, expected to gradually begin operations early next year.
Alagil said Jarir aims to open nine showrooms this year, with eight already opened, including six new locations, five in Saudi Arabia and one in Kuwait, a showroom at Dammam Airport, and two replacement showrooms.
Alagil expects the company’s Trade-In initiative to continue performing well. Upcoming discount seasons in November, December and February are also expected to support sales.
He expects Apple product supplies to improve, with Apple set to open its own physical store by year-end. However, he does not expect the opening to affect Jarir’s sales.
Shipping and insurance costs have risen to between three and five times previous levels, affecting the prices of some products amid higher shipping costs and component prices, Alagil said.
He expects Jarir to deliver positive performance in the coming quarter.
According to Argaamdata, Jarir’s net profit rose 15% to SAR 374 million in Q3 2026, compared to SAR 324.9 million in the same period of 2025.
