Speaking during the opening address at the International Energy Forum (IEF) in Riyadh, he said that the Kingdom is developing additional pipelines to provide alternative routes that bypass the Strait of Hormuz, supporting the continued flow of energy supplies to global markets.

The cost of building alternative routes is far lower than the cost of not having them, said the minister, highlighting the importance of enhancing the resilience of energy infrastructure and reducing the risks of supply disruptions.

He noted that ensuring energy security cannot be the responsibility of a single country, but requires coordinated cooperation among all nations, particularly under current conditions, which pose growing challenges to supply flows and markets.

Prince Abdulaziz further pointed out that a lack of coordination could prompt countries to focus individually on securing their energy needs, whether from oil and gas or renewable sources, emphasizing the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation among all parties.
