ADEN — Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi strongly condemned the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, saying it reflected the group’s disregard for civilian lives and the interests of the Yemeni people. In a statement issued Sunday, Al-Alimi extended his condolences to Saudi Arabia’s leadership, government and people on behalf of himself, fellow council members, the Yemeni government and people, reaffirming Yemen’s solidarity with the Kingdom. “We strongly condemn the Houthi terrorist attack on King Khalid Int’l Airport, which killed many travelers and injured hundreds of people of various nationalities,” Al-Alimi said. “This criminal attack reflects the Houthis’ terrorist nature and their disregard for civilian lives and the interests of the Yemeni people,” he added. Al-Alimi also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Yemen’s economy, public budget and citizens’ welfare, including recent measures concerning the status of Yemeni residents in Saudi Arabia. The Yemeni leader stressed that the security and interests of Saudi Arabia and Yemen were closely linked, warning that any attack on the Kingdom also threatened Yemen’s security and future. “Any attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on our security, interests, and the future of our generations,” Al-Alimi said.
