NEW YORK — United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres expressed deep shock over the deadly Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, strongly condemning the violence and calling for an immediate end to such attacks. In a statement posted on X, Guterres denounced Saturday’s attack, which killed 12 people and injured 309 civilians. “I am deeply shocked by & strongly condemn Saturday’s lethal attack by the Houthis on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which reportedly killed 12 people & injured hundreds of civilians,” Guterres said. The UN chief stressed that attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure violate international law and called for such violence to cease immediately. “Attacks on civilians & civilian infrastructure are a violation of international law. These attacks must cease immediately,” he added.
