Twareat appeals ruling ordering SABIC to pay SAR 1.03 mln
Twareat Medical Care Co. said it filed an appeal against the preliminary ruling issued by the Commercial Court in Riyadh in its lawsuit against Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC).
The medical services provider will announce any further material developments in due course, according to Tadawul statement.
According to Argaam data, the Commercial Court issued a preliminary ruling on Aug. 25, 2026, ordering SABIC to pay Twareat SAR 1.03 million, in addition to SAR 6,500 representing the company’s share of expert fees.
The court also ruled that it would not hear Twareat’s claim relating to the contractual year from Dec. 1, 2019, to Nov. 30, 2020, due to the expiry of the statutory limitation period. Furthermore, the court ruled that it lacked jurisdiction over the company’s request for SABIC to pay the value-added tax arising from the principal claim, and rejected the remaining claims.
In November 2025, Twareat had filed a lawsuit against SABIC seeking financial differences of SAR 34.51 million, including VAT, for the period from Dec. 1, 2019, to Nov. 30, 2024. The claim relates to an agreement to operate eight medical clinics at SABIC and its subsidiaries’ facilities.
