The Saudi Contractors Authority (SCA) issued its monthly report on the Kingdom’s contracting sector for August 2026, providing contractors and investors with information on key developments in sector projects.

According to the report, 13 construction projects were awarded in August, with a total value of about SAR 4.9 billion. They are scheduled to be implemented over three years.

The report expects one project worth more than SAR 300 million to be completed in 2028, six projects worth a combined value of more than SAR 1 billion to be completed in 2029, and six projects worth more than SAR 3 billion to be completed in 2030.

The number of projects awarded in the contracting sector since the beginning of 2026 has thus risen to 110, with a total value exceeding SAR 116.2 billion.

The commercial sector topped the list of projects awarded in August, with a value of about SAR 1.99 billion, representing 40.92% of the total project value. It was followed by apartments at SAR 957.26 million (19.71%), and data centers at SAR 750 million (15.44%).

The projects awarded in August 2026 were distributed between Riyadh, which accounted for seven projects worth SAR 3.39 billion, and the Eastern Province, with six projects worth about SAR 1.5 billion.

Riyadh Holding Co., the investment and execution arm of the Riyadh Municipality, ranked first among the largest project owners by value in August 2026, with SAR 3 billion through five projects. It was followed by HUMAIN and NVIDIA, with SAR 750 million through two projects, and Refad Real Estate, with about SAR 712.5 million through four projects.
