Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Malki says Houthi attacks targeted civilian and economic sites in several Saudi cities

The Houthi militia attempts to target Saudi Arabia, its national assets, and citizens constitute a dangerous escalation that underscores the militia’s hostile and irresponsible approach, said Major General Turki Al-Malki, the official spokesperson for the Saudi-led Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen.

The terrorist Houthi militia’s reckless attacks, most recently targeting civilian and economic sites in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran and injuring 73 civilians, including women and children, constitute a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a direct threat to the security of its citizens.

Al-Malki said the unjustified attacks deliberately seek to damage the Kingdom’s national assets, facilities and civilian sites, while underscoring the militia’s extremist criminal conduct and rejection of efforts to achieve peace and stability in Yemen and its Arab and Islamic neighborhood.

The Coalition Joint Forces Command will take all necessary operational measures to deter the terrorist militia and firmly confront its hostile approach in defense of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, protection of its national assets, and preservation of the safety of its citizens and residents. The Coalition will also take all necessary measures and actions to respond to the sources of threats and neutralize the danger they pose.
