The Ministry of Energy signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) on Sept. 6 to establish a natural gas compression and tanker distribution plant at the Third Industrial City in Dammam.

The ministry was represented by Assistant Minister for Development and Excellence Ahmed Al-Zahrani, while MODON was represented by its CEO Majed Al-Argoubi, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The MoU aims to provide compressed natural gas services to the First Industrial City in Dammam, the First Industrial City in Al-Ahsa, and nearby factories through tankers that will distribute compressed gas to targeted industrial facilities.

The MoU is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of natural gas supplies and support the energy needs of the industrial sector.
