The Ministry of Energy said the Ministry of Investment and Saudi Aramco Rowan Offshore Drilling Co. (ARO) signed an agreement to support the localization of offshore drilling rig manufacturing in Saudi Arabia. 
The Ministry of Energy said on X that the agreement seeks to localize the offshore drilling rig industry by developing energy supply chains and enhancing national capabilities and expertise.
It added that the agreement is expected to attract high-quality investments, support several national strategies, strengthen local supply chain resilience, and create new job opportunities.
