Gasoline stocks rose by 348,000 barrels last week

Commercial oil inventories in the US declined during the week ended Aug. 28, along with a decrease in distillate inventories, the American Petroleum Institute (API) report released on Sept. 1 showed.

Crude oil inventories fell by 2.6 million barrels last week, while gasoline stocks rose by 348,000 barrels. Distillate stocks – including diesel and heating oil – fell by 265,000 barrels.

Oil market traders are awaiting the official data from the Energy Information Administration scheduled to be released later today, Sept. 2, amid expectations of a 300,000-barrel decline in crude oil inventories.

At the close of trading on Tuesday, Brent crude futures for November delivery rose 4.60% to $94.65 a barrel, and WTI crude futures for October delivery jumped 5.20% to $90.22 a barrel.
