US crude oil inventories decreased by 328,000 barrels in the week ended Aug. 14, the American Petroleum Institute (API) said on Aug. 18.
Gasoline stocks increased by 1.07 million barrels, while distillate inventories fell by 2.79 million barrels, and 1.39 million barrels, respectively.
Markets are awaiting the release of official data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) today, Aug. 19, amid expectations for a decline of 1.6 million barrels.
Brent crude futures for October delivery rose 0.17% to $91.02 a barrel on Tuesday, while US WTI crude futures for September delivery gained 0.52% to $84.94 a barrel.
