The total value of projects in Saudi Arabia’s construction sector reached about SAR 233.2 billion in 2025, spread across 472 projects, according to the Saudi Contractors Authority’s (SCA) annual report.
The authority said the number of establishments operating in the construction sector reached 365,120 in 2025.
The water and energy sector accounted for the largest share of project value in 2025, at about SAR 79.52 billion across 84 projects, followed by the building and construction sector with SAR 74.7 billion through 270 projects.
The oil and gas sector ranked third, with projects valued at SAR 36.88 billion across 22 projects, followed by the infrastructure sector at SAR 36.54 billion through 74 projects while the industrial sector recorded the lowest project value, at about SAR 5.53 billion across 22 projects.
The Riyadh region accounted for the largest share of project value in 2025, at about SAR 78.33 billion across 128 projects, followed by the Eastern Province with SAR 72.34 billion through 96 projects, and the Makkah region with SAR 35.42 billion across 71 projects.
Power generation projects ranked first in terms of project value in 2025, with a total of SAR 43.41 billion across 22 projects, followed by road and bridge projects at SAR 31.28 billion through 35 projects, and hotel projects at SAR 13.55 billion across 24 projects.
The construction of multiple structures at the Zuluf field, owned by Saudi Aramco, topped the list of the largest projects by value in 2025, at SAR 21.94 billion, followed by the King Salman International Airport project (six parallel runways), valued at SAR 20.63 billion.
