The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing (MOMAH) launched a service for qualifying contractors in the municipal sector through the “Balady Business” platform, enabling contracting establishments to fulfill qualification requirements and obtain accreditation in accordance with unified standards. 
The ministry explained that the service organizes the contractor qualification process, starting with the completion of regulatory and technical requirements, followed by evaluating the establishment based on quality standards and operational readiness, and eventually its accreditation for the targeted municipal services and fields, state-run news agency SPA reported.
Contracting establishments have been granted a corrective period until June 30, 2027, to complete the qualification and accreditation requirements. The service is available electronically through the platform, allowing establishments to complete their data, attach the required documents, and track the qualification procedures until accreditation is issued, it added.
The ministry further stated that qualification requirements include holding valid commercial registration and municipal licenses, fulfilling the required classification certificate and memberships, and having the necessary technical personnel and expertise, in addition to completing the required data and documents through the “Balady Business” platform.
It confirmed that the service applies unified evaluation criteria to verify the competence, reliability, and readiness of establishments, as well as their ability to execute works and provide municipal services in accordance with approved technical and professional requirements.
