SFDA blocks more than 300 tons of contaminated food in Q2 2026

RIYADH — More than 300 tons of contaminated food were prevented from entering Saudi Arabia during the second quarter of 2026, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) said. According to the SFDA’s Regulatory Enforcement Report, the authority identified 1,960 violating establishments, seized 1,016 products, and conducted 17,096 inspection visits during the second quarter of 2026. The authority said compliance with the SFDA’s regulations and bylaws is mandatory, warning that violations are subject to legal procedures and regulatory penalties.
