Saudi Arabia’s social insurance scheme included 13.95 million public and private sector employees by the end of Q1 2026, the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) data showed.

Insured citizens reached 3.11 million, accounting for 22.3% of the total subscribers. Meanwhile, the number of insured expatriate workers reached nearly 10.84 million, or 77.7% of total registered employees.

Social insurance subscribers working in the private sector reached 13.31 million at the end of Q1 2026, representing 95.4% of total registered employees.

The number of registered subscribers in the government sector reached approximately 637,300.

Regional distribution shows that Riyadh accounted for the largest number of insured workers with nearly 7.16 million or over 51%, followed by the Eastern Province at 2.46 million and Makkah at 2.2 million.

During the three-month period, 238,700 individuals suspended their social insurance subscription.

Saudi citizens who stopped their subscriptions during the period accounted for 36.4% of the total, or 87,000 subscribers, while the number of non-Saudi subscribers reached 151,700, representing 63.6% of the total.
