Methanex Corp., the world’s largest producer and supplier of methanol, kept its Asian contract price (ACP) for June unchanged month-on-month (MoM) at $740 per ton.

Prices had reached an all-time high in April, according to data available since 2006, driven by rising oil prices amid the Iran war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Methanex’s monthly selling price serves as a benchmark for producers and spot markets, with buyers typically receiving an average 15% discount on contract prices.

In China, the world’s top importer, thespot pricestood at $400 per ton, according toArgaam‘s latest data.
