Almasane Alkobra Mining Co. (AMAK) resumed operations at Al Masane plant for processing base metals (zinc and copper concentrates), effective today, May 13, following a shutdown that lasted 16 weeks.
The company said the restart aligns with its 2026 business plan, which aims to optimize and maximize the long-term utilization of ore production from the Sada, Al-Houra, and Muyeath deposits, according to a statement to Tadawul today, May 13.
These deposits collectively constitute the underground mining operation supplying Al Masane’s base and precious metals plant.
The resumption of operations is expected to enhance operational efficiency and stabilize production levels in the coming period, the statement added.
The company noted that the financial impact related to the shutdown period and the resumption of operations will depend on the average selling prices of metals during the relevant period, with the impact expected to be reflected in the financial results for Q2 2026.
According to data available with Argaam, AMAK previously announced the temporary suspension of base metals processing of zinc and copper concentrates at Al Masane for around 16 weeks starting Jan. 22, 2026.
