The Official Gazette published the regulations governing the hiring of Saudis abroad and the related salary scale, which were approved by the Cabinet.

The regulations apply to government entities subject to the Civil Service Law that operate missions, attachés, or technical offices abroad and wish to hire Saudi nationals overseas.

Under Article 2 of the regulations, candidates must meet seven key conditions. They must be Saudi nationals, be and at least 18 years old (Hijri calendar). In addition, they must have qualifications and experience suitable for the position, with such qualifications and experience verified through official procedures.

Government entities may hire Saudis abroad to work in missions, attachés, and technical offices based on a strategic workforce plan approved by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.

Article 4 outlines the rules governing salaries and allowances for contracted employees, noting that the Unified Administrative Regulation will define the controls and policies governing the payment of such allowances and financial benefits.

Employees hired under these regulations will be subject to the Labor Law and the Social Insurance Law.
