MADINAH — Minister of Transport and Logistics and Chairman of the Board of the Roads General Authority (RGA) Saleh Al-Jasser briefed Emir of Madinah Prince Salman bin Sultan on the ongoing preparations for the 2026 Hajj season. During their meeting at the emir’s office on Thursday, Prince Salman also listened to the integrated efforts among relevant entities to ensure smooth traffic flow, as well as to facilitate pilgrims’ movement, and raise readiness levels to accommodate the high traffic density during the season. The meeting was held in the presence of Deputy Emir Prince Saud bin Nahar. During the meeting, they reviewed topics related to the transport and logistics services ecosystem in the region, and projects and initiatives aimed at developing infrastructure and raising road efficiency to enhance service quality.Meanwhile, Prince Salman launched a campaign to conduct a comprehensive survey and assessment of road networks outside urban areas in the region. Deputy Emir Prince Saud bin Nahar and Minister of Transport Saleh Al-Jasser attended the launch. The campaign’s significance stems from its timing during this year’s Hajj season and Madinah region’s role as a key logistics hub serving pilgrims. Over a specified period, the campaign focuses its efforts on Madinah region’s road network, whose total length exceeds 8,184 km, through effective collaboration between community members and relevant government agencies, complementing the authority’s periodic survey and assessment work throughout the year. The campaign’s previous edition resulted in more than 100,000 observations being addressed across Saudi Arabia.
