The move comes just one day after the operation was launched. It is intended to allow more time for negotiations with Iran.

In a post on Truth Social on Wednesday morning, Trump said the decision seeks to give sufficient space for international mediation efforts. These efforts aim to end the war and reach a final and comprehensive agreement with Tehran.

The pause followed a request from Pakistan and other countries, the US President noted.

However, Trump stressed that the US naval blockade on Iranian ports will remain in place.
