RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the ongoing military escalation in the region and called for restoring freedom of international maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.In a statement issued Tuesday, the ministry urged de-escalation, restraint, and avoidance of further military tensions.It also emphasized the importance of supporting mediation efforts led by Pakistan and broader diplomatic initiatives aimed at reaching a political solution to prevent further instability.The ministry stressed the need to restore maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to its normal state, as it was prior to Feb. 28, and to ensure the safe and unrestricted passage of vessels.Saudi Arabia reiterated its position on maintaining regional security and stability through dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
