NEW DELHI — Six passengers were injured after a Zurich-bound Swiss International Air Lines flight aborted takeoff at Indira Gandhi International Airport early Sunday, officials said.Delhi airport authorities said a full emergency was declared involving Flight LX147.“All prescribed safety protocols were promptly executed, and passengers were safely evacuated. Airport operations remained unaffected,” the airport said in a statement.Local broadcaster NDTV reported that six passengers were injured and taken to hospital.Swiss International Air Lines said there were 228 passengers and four infants on board the aircraft.The airline said an issue occurred with one of the engines shortly after the takeoff roll began.“The crew rejected the takeoff and, following an assessment of the situation, decided as a precaution to evacuate the aircraft,” the airline said.It added that six passengers were receiving medical treatment, while crew members were unharmed.A passenger identifying himself as Aakarsh Gupta wrote on X that a “massive blast-like sound” was heard before pilots applied heavy braking on the runway.He also claimed the engine caught fire before all passengers were evacuated.Airport operations continued normally following the incident.
