JERUSALEM — The Israeli army said Saturday it carried out airstrikes targeting ballistic missile production sites linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the capital Tehran.In a statement, the army said its air force conducted “a wide-scale strike sortie” targeting facilities used for the production of ballistic missiles.It claimed that among the targets was a central IRGC compound involved in the development and manufacturing of missile components.The strikes also hit a Defense Ministry facility responsible for producing missile fuel, according to the statement.Israel further said it targeted several air defense systems deployed across Tehran.The developments come as US-Israeli military operations against Iran continue following the launch of the offensive on Feb. 28, with Tehran responding through repeated drone and missile attacks targeting Israel and Gulf countries.
