US media outlets cited informed sources early Monday as saying that both parties also agreed to schedule a vote on the Affordable Care Act bill in December.

According to CNN, one source said the deal includes the reversal of President Donald Trump’s decisions to dismiss federal employees, as well as rules to prevent similar actions in the future. It also secures funding for the food stamp program through fiscal year 2026.

Under the deal, lawmakers will approve full-year funding for the Departments of Agriculture and Veterans Affairs and for Congress itself, while providing temporary funding for other agencies until Jan. 30, Bloomberg reported.

The bill also provides back pay for furloughed government workers, restores suspended federal payments to states and localities, and reinstates agency employees laid off during the shutdown, according to the agency.

The agreement was negotiated by Senators Angus King, Jeanne Shaheen, and Maggie Hassan on behalf of the Democrats.

However, it does not include an extension of the expired enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies, a key Democratic demand, but guarantees a Senate vote on the issue later.
