Saudi Railway Co. (SAR) reported transporting 13.7 million passengers across its networks in 2024, reflecting a 22% increase compared to 2023.

According to its statement on X, SAR also successfully moved over 28 million tons of goods and minerals, achieving a 15% growth in the freight sector.

Additionally, through the Mashair Train, SAR facilitated the transportation of more than 2 million pilgrims during the 1445H Hajj season, easing the pressure on land transportation.

The company highlighted that operational passenger train trips surpassed 35,000, a 19% increase from 2023, driven by the growing demand for trains as a safe and reliable mode of transport.

In freight, SAR played a key role in reducing over 2 million truck trips on the Kingdom’s roads, saving more than 113 million liters of fuel and contributing to lower carbon emissions.
