The National Company for Glass Industries (Zoujaj) said in a Tadawul statement that the board of Saudi Guardian International Float Glass Co. Ltd (Gulf Guard) approved the study submitted for the establishment of a flat and coater glass production for $267 million (SAR 1 billion).

The coater and flat glass lines are expected to start operations in Q3 2027 and Q2 2028, respectively, pending securing adequate financing for the project.

According to Argaam data, Gulf Guard approved in January 2024 studying the establishment of a flat glass plant. In August 2024, Gulf Guard approved building the plant at an estimated cost of $215 million (SAR 806.2 million).

Zoujaj said the plant, to be dubbed Gulf Guard 2, will be established in the Royal Commission for Jubail Industrial City, with a production capacity of 750 tons per day.
