Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), after reviewing the Trade Facilitation Agreement to which the Kingdom deposited its instrument of acceptance on July 28, 2016, approved the updates of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) Program Policy.

The AEO Program is a global customs initiative recommended by the World Customs Organization and implemented by most customs administrations worldwide.

The program is based on a partnership between the private sector and customs authorities. It emphasizes voluntary compliance with the standards and requirements established by the program for entities within the international trade supply chain, thereby allowing members to benefit from the facilities and advantages offered.
