Yanbu Cement Co. and Southern Province Cement Co. failed to reach a final agreement on their potential merger, given the expiry of the non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) they previously signed in this regard. 
In June 2024, Yanbu Cement and Southern Cement signed the non-binding MoU to evaluate the feasibility of merging the two companies, data compiled with Argaam showed.

Last June, the two sides agreed to extend the MoU for an additional three months, in order to consider a potential share swap and to carry out the due diligence process.
