Two Saudi companies and three US-based companies will form a consortium to explore and produce oil and gas in northeastern Syria, Reuters reported.
According to the agency, both Baker Hughes, Hunt Energy, and Argent LNG plan to form an energy joint venture in cooperation with ACWA Power and Industrialization Energy Services Company (Taqa). The project is expected to cover four to five exploration sites in northeastern Syria.
Jonathan Bass, CEO of Argent LNG, confirmed that the companies anticipate signing a memorandum of understanding for the project in the coming weeks.
