US crude oil inventories rose for the third straight week in the week ended Fed. 7, adding as many as 4.1 million barrels, against forecasts for an increase of nearly 2.4 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) data showed.

Gasoline stocks, on the other hand, retreated by 3 million barrels. Distillate stocks, including diesel and heating oil, rose by about 100,000 barrels.
