US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday thattheUS is working to finalize a trade agreement with China, adding that his administration is set to impose direct tariffs on most other countries. 
Speaking at an event in Washington on artificial intelligence (AI) developments, Trump indicated that US is holding serious talks with the European Union (EU), noting that Washington will impose lower tariffs on the bloc exports, if the EU opens its markets to American companies.
This comes a day after Trump announced a customs agreement with Japan, which includes a 15% tariff and a commitment from Tokyo to make major investments in the US market.
