US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Washington will soon impose tariffs on BRICS countries, and intends to introduce high tariffs on copper imports.
During a US government meeting, Trump told reporters that the US will impose a 10% tariff on BRICS countries soon, as well as a 50% tariff on copper imports.
He added that pharmaceutical companies will be given a grace period before being targeted with sector-specific tariffs.
A letter may also be sent to the European Union within two days on the upcoming tariffs to be levied, Trump noted.
