WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for not supporting the war against Iran, calling his stance “a big mistake.” “Well, he hasn’t been supportive. And I think it’s a big mistake,” Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that Britain benefits significantly from trade with the United States. Trump said he was “disappointed,” claiming Starmer had been willing to deploy major assets after the conflict but not during it. “I told him, send a couple of mine sweepers. We don’t need your aircraft carriers,” Trump said. He also took a personal swipe at the British leader, saying: “Unfortunately, Keir is not Winston Churchill.” Trump further criticized Starmer’s domestic policies, describing his approach to immigration and energy as a “disaster.” “You’ve allowed millions and millions and millions of people to come into your country that shouldn’t be there. And by the way, that’s all over Europe,” he added.
