Trump calls Democrats ‘greatest enemy’ after ‘death of Iran’

WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump on Sunday described the Democratic Party as the “greatest enemy” of the United States, escalating his rhetoric amid a prolonged government shutdown. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the country’s main threat was now the “Radical Left… Democrat Party,” accusing them of obstructing funding and endangering national security.”Now with the death of Iran, the greatest enemy America has is the Radical Left, Highly Incompetent, Democrat Party! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. In a separate post, Trump announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents would be deployed to US airports starting Monday to assist Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers, who have been working without pay during the shutdown. The move comes as the Department of Homeland Security funding standoff continues, with TSA staffing shortages causing disruptions at major airports.Trump said ICE agents would support airport operations and help enforce immigration laws, while blaming Democrats for blocking previously agreed funding measures. The president had earlier warned that ICE deployment would proceed if Democrats refused to end the shutdown, which began in February after both parties failed to reach a funding agreement.Democrats, however, have opposed additional funding for ICE without reforms, citing concerns over enforcement practices and recent controversial operations.Despite the impasse, TSA employees — classified as essential workers — have continued to operate airport security without pay, contributing to rising absenteeism and delays.
