Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) stated that it received a letter from the Minister of Energy on Jan. 31, indicating the issuance of the resolution of the Ministerial Committee for the Restructuring of the Electricity Sector on approving a final settlement for legally disputed amounts related to technical discrepancies in quantities, prices and handling costs of fuel and electric power.

A work team representing the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, and the Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority, in coordination with other concerned parties, studied the disputed transactions worth SAR 10.3 billion, according to a Tadawul statement.

Independent technical and legal consultants were engaged to assess the disputes and present findings and recommendations to the respected Ministerial Committee.
