Savola Group’s board of directors approved the resignation of Waleed Fatani from his position as Group CEO, based on mutual agreement. The move comes as part of the company’s ongoing strategic transformation plan aimed at focusing more closely on the food sector.
In a statement on Tadawul, the company added that, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the board approved the appointment of Sameh Hassan as the new CEO. Hassan currently serves as CEO of Savola Foods Ltd. Co. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Savola Group) since Dec. 2018.

Sameh Hassan will officially begin his duties as CEO of Savola Group on July 1, 2025, the statement added.
Savola pointed out that this executive leadership change reflects the Group’s continued evolution, positioning Savola Foods at the core of its ambitious future growth strategy.
The Group added that Hassan is an experienced leader in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector, with extensive experience in leadership, strategic planning, and managing multinational companies across the food industry and other sectors, continuing his distinguished executive journey.
Hassan holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Cairo University. He previously served as CEO of Al Faisaliah Group’s companies and Chief Operating Officer at Basamh Group. He also spent nearly two decades in various international roles at Procter Gamble. In addition, he holds board and committee memberships at several companies.
