Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia), announced the largest deal in the country’s aviation history with Airbus for 105 aircraft.

The group will receive the first aircraft in the first quarter of 2026.

Speaking at the Future Aviation Forum (FAF) in Riyadh, he stated that the new ordercomes after the88 aircraft slated to be received over the next five years.

Al-Omar explained that this initiative is the largest investment in guest experience in theSaudia’shistory. It is a key component of the group’s strategic priorities and marks the beginning of a new era, aligning with the national strategy for the aviation sector.

He highlighted the launch of a new experience in business and hospitality classes by offering innovative products. This project includes new and current aircraft, with the first refurbishedaircraft ready by the end of 2025.

Al-Omar noted these initiatives create competition for airlines with different evaluation criteria. He added these investments will positively impact Saudi Vision 2030 goals in tourism, logistics, job creation, and support of local content, which contributes to boostingnational economic development.
