Saudi Arabia’s merchandise imports fell 6% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 63.2 billion in February, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).

Meanwhile, merchandise imports declined by 17%, or nearly SAR 13.1 billion, month-on-month (MoM).

Machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment and their parts topped imports in January, representing 24% (SAR 14.9 billion) of total imports. Vehicles, aircraft, vessels, and associated transport equipment followed at roughly 15%.

Saudi Arabia’s imports came mainly from China in February 2025, at SAR 15.2 billion (24%) of the total. The US came in second with SAR 4.6 billion, followed by India (SAR 4.2 billion) and the UAE (SAR 3.3 billion).

The top 10 exporters to Saudi Arabia accounted for almost 64% (SAR 40.4 billion) of total imports for the same month,as shown below:
