RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman sent cables of condolences to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad following the crash of a Qatari military helicopter due to a technical malfunction during a routine mission, which resulted in the deaths of several armed forces personnel.In his message, King Salman expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the Emir and the families of the victims, praying for mercy and forgiveness for the deceased and for their families to be granted patience and strength.Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also conveyed his sincere condolences, expressing sorrow over the incident and extending his support to the families of the victims.Saudi Arabia also expressed its condolences to the governments and peoples of Qatar and Turkey following the incident, which claimed the lives of personnel from the Qatari armed forces and the joint Qatari-Turkish forces.In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the victims’ families and wished safety and stability for both nations.The helicopter crashed early Sunday in Qatar’s territorial waters after experiencing a technical failure during a routine mission, according to Qatari authorities. The Qatari Ministry of Interior later confirmed the deaths of all crew members on board.
