RIYADH — The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced on Saturday that its land, sea, and air customs ports recorded 663 seizures of contraband of various types and forms during the last week. ZATCA said that the seized items include 34 types of narcotics, 251 types of prohibited substances, 1,355 types of tobacco and its derivatives, in addition to 13 cases involving cash. ZATCA affirmed its commitment to strengthening customs control over the Kingdom’s imports and exports to ensure the security and protection of society. This is part of ZATCA’s ongoing efforts to enhance security and protect society from contraband, in continuous cooperation and coordination with all its partners from relevant agencies. The authorities called on everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy by contacting them through the dedicated security reporting hotline 1910 or via email, or the international number 009661910. Through these channels, they receive reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Unified Customs Law with complete confidentiality, and offer a financial reward to the whistleblower if the information provided is accurate.
