RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has stressed the importance of adhering to safety procedures in the event of a gas leak, warning against the use of electrical switches or any source that could cause ignition.The directorate advised residents to immediately evacuate the area, securely close the gas valve and ventilate the site by slowly opening windows and doors.It also recommended installing gas leak detection devices in homes to protect lives and property.Civil Defense called on the public to follow safety guidelines and instructions issued through various media outlets and social media platforms.It urged residents to call 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, and 998 in the remaining regions of the Kingdom to request assistance in emergency situations.
