Saudi Chemical Company Holding (SCCH) appointed, on Jan. 28, Abdullah Alznaedi as the new CEO of the company, as of Feb. 1.
According to a statement to Tadawul, the company noted that Alznaedi holds a degree in chemical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, awarded in 1993. He also earned an executive master’s degree in business administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management, USA, in 2016.
With over 31 years of industrial experience, Alznaedi brings extensive expertise to his new role. Moreover, Alznaedi worked at Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) for 24 years, during which he held several positions, the last of which was CEO of SABIC Africa.
At the start of his career, he also worked at Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corp. (SPIMACO) for three years. He joined SCCH in early 2021 and currently serves as CEO of the Explosives Division. Additionally, he holds board membership in both Methanol Chemicals Co. (Chemanol) and Al Jouf Cement Co.
In a separate statement, the company announced that the board approved a modification to the effective date of the resignation of the CEO, Thamer Al-Mohaeed, to Jan. 31 instead of the previously announced date of Feb. 28, based on his request.
According to Argaam data, SCCH announced in November that the board accepted the resignation of CEO Engineer Thamer Al-Mohaeed, adding that he will continue to serve as a board member.
