Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet approved 2026 as the “Year of Artificial Intelligence (AI)” in a virtual meeting chaired by the Crown Prince, who is also prime minister.
The Cabinet also approved the creation of the Royal Institute of Anthropology and Cultural Studies.
It strongly condemned Iran’s attacks on Saudi Arabia, Gulf states, and other Arab, Islamic, and friendly countries, citing threats to security, stability, and violations of international law targeting civilian sites, airports, and oil facilities.
The Cabinet affirmed Saudi Arabia’s right to protect its security, sovereignty, and territory, and praised the air defenses for intercepting missiles and drones aimed at sites within the Kingdom.
